September 3rd, 2008So this morning I got the bus into work, as I do sometimes. Here, as in other major cities, public transport has notices up informing transit passengers to alert the driver or the police if they see a suspicious item. The notice on morning’s bus had a big sticker covering the “suspicious package”. It read: “FEAR: Brought to you by the Bush regime.”
at&t and text messages…
March 26th, 2008OK So I’ve been using my unlocked W800i with an AT&T prepaid SIM since I arrived in the US and it’s been working mostly well, except I haven’t been able to send text messages since I changed to this network. I rang customer service, and they checked my settings, and it was fine, and eventually they gave up telling me that this was an unsupported phone, and I should buy one of theirs. Regardless - I got it working today. And it was very simple. Directions for those who may have the same problem:
Menu-Settings-Connectivity-Data-comm-SMS access-GSM
That’s it. Mine was set to GPRS and refused to send messages.

Frank black not arrested for busking
February 12th, 2008Frank black went busking in Dublin on Saturday evening. The gardai carted him off. The music correspondent from the Irish Times commented - “Bet it wouldn’t happen to Glen Hansard….”
although the gardai also have stated that “Black wasn’t arrested but was simply taken away in order to disperse the crowd.”
